Traffic systems in the 1970s

Individuality with collectivity, combined systems that close the gap between public transport and the car, were attempts to solve urban traffic density problems. In the late 60s Europe's public transport system had to face large deficits. Since WW2 the car never lost its powerful position of an individualized comfortable living standard.
As a result, alternative traffic systems, as shown, were discussed but rejected.

Coup - Container cabin system

Coup (Krupp) and CAT (DEMAG) systems mainly work similar:
Persons choose their destinations by computer and are transported in cabins of 1-2 to junction points to be collected to larger units.

CAT - Cabin taxis

Transurban

Transurban (KraussMaffei):
Mobile gangways were suspended in full air conditioned tubes.
